MIFCO is bringing in an additional vessel with a capacity to carry 2,500 tons

The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has sent off a vessel loaded with 3,000 tons of fish haul, from Kooddoo island to Bangkok, Thailand.

Ramzee Abubakur, MIFCO’s chief executive officer, said that the vessel left on Wednesday. He also said that the company is bringing in an additional vessel with a capacity to carry 2,500 tons.

There has been a distinctive rise in haul from the south. MIFCO said they have weighed about 1,800 tons in three days alone. They only weighed 150 tons in the last six months.

The company previously said they raised their capacity to weigh from 400 to 720 tons and their capacity to store hauls on ice from 216 to 612 tons.

MIFCO said on Wednesday that most of the fish haul comes for southernmost Addu city.
