International community will not accept an administration elected through an invalid election
UN Human Rights Committee has called on the government to restore Nasheed's rights, including to contest in the presidential elections

Former Foreign minister, Ahmed Naseem has said that any administration elected after the rejection of UN's conclusions 'will not be legitimate'.

In response to a statement released by the current Foreign Ministry rejecting UN Human Rights Council's conclusions which asserted Maldivian government to allow former President Nasheed to run in the upcoming election, Naseem argued that any subsequent election conducted while President Nasheed remains disqualied will be invalid.

Naseem adeded that any government elected through such an election 'shuold be considered illegal' by the international community.

UN's Human Rights Council concluded terrorism allegation against President Nasheed as baseless and urged the current government to allow Nasheed to run as a candidate in the presidential election this year.
