Maldives military organizes Quran recital competition for students

The Maldives National Defence Force’s (MNDF) central area command has held a Quran recital competition for students in Maamendhoo island of Laamu atoll.

A spokesperson with the MNDF said that the competition was organized at the behest of the state-run primary school in Maamendhoo.

The competition began on 12th April and went on until Monday, 16th April. 34 students had been part of it and it received much commendation from parents, the MNDF said.

Major Amaanulla Ahmed Rasheed, deputy commander of the central area command, had conferred certificates to winners of the competition.
