'President Yameen must clear corruption allegations if he is to run for presidency': Rozaina
'There are billions and billions of corruption allegations against him', said Rozaina at Fala Surukhee Program
'(Bank) Accounts consist millions and millions of dollars and rufiyaa', she added.
Rozaina also mentioned that Election Commission isn't liable for political parties.

Addu Meedhoo constituency representative, MP Rozaina Adam said that President Yameen must first clear the corruption allegations made against him if he wishes to run for the presidency in 2018.

Rozaina mentioned that although President Yameen is eyeing to run for presidency this year, he has over billions of corruption allegations. She also alleged him of having millions of dollars and rufiyaa in his bank accounts while speaking on 'Fala Surukhee' programme aired on RaajjeTV this Saturday.

MP Rozaina, who openly criticizes President Yameen's administration, also added that Fenaka's former Managing Director Ahmed Shareef getting appointed as Election Commission's (EC) president confirms that the election will not be free or fair either.

According to Rozaina, the only way this coming election will be free and fair is if President Yameen clears the allegations against him.

"If we want to have a free and fair election in this country now, President Yameen must clear corruption allegations made against him if he is to run as a candidate", Rozaina explained.

MP Rozaina also alleged and excessively critized Elections Commission for attempting to influence political parties' internal affairs. She accused EC of attempting to meddle with political parties assuming they have any relevant responsiblities towards parties.

'Election Commission is very much mistaken in thinking that political parties fall under their mandate. The relationship between political parties and EC is clearly determined under the law. And they are not supposed to rise above it and treat political parties as an orphan child they have adopted by bringing parties under their authority, giving punishments and so on", added Rozaina.
