The President’s Office has on Tuesday set the deadline to submit names to be eligible for the ‘National Award’ conferred annually at every Independence Day.
The deadline for submissions has been set for 15th April, and nomination forms are available at the President’s Office’s website.
Government offices, independent institutions, companies, associations, and individuals can propose nominees for the awards and the government has said that it will give special consideration to particular demographics.
“Similar to the last 4 years’ National Awards, special consideration will be given to categories for women and youth in line with the administration’s pledge to encourage empowerment and opportunity for skilled individuals across different sectors” the President’s Office said.
These awards are conferred to individuals deemed to be the youth, aged 18 to 35 years, who are considered to have made ‘invaluable contributions’ through different sectors for a minimum of 5 years.
