North-Maafannu MP Imthiyaz Fathmy has said that the turmoil seen within the State should be stopped.
Speaking at a joint opposition rally, MP Fahmy said that no other administration has suspended as many lawyers as President Abdulla Yameen’s administration.
He also said that no other administration has declared as many state of emergencies to maintain power.
Government workers are seen defending its institutions while prisons are being filled up, MP Fahmy said, adding that it is everyone’s duty to uphold human rights and work for reform.
He also criticized President Yameen’s administration for leaving the Commonwealth and for Maldives being sidelined from the international community.
