MP Mahloof to be summoned in court for remand hearing

This week the police forwarded allegations of terrorism against the parliamentarian

The Criminal Court has scheduled a remand hearing for detained lawmaker Ahmed Mahloof, representing the South-Galolhu constituency.

The hearing has been scheduled for 3:00 PM on Friday. The lawmaker was arrested on Fberuary 22nd, over allegations of rallying at a no-demonstration zone.

Mahloof, who has thus far spent 36 days in incarceration, had been on the frontlines of a rally calling for President Abdulla Yameen’s resignation and for judicial independence.

This week the police forwarded allegations of terrorism against the parliamentarian, for prosecution.
