Housing Minister Mohamed Muizzu has clarified that the documents burnt in a storage unit fire did not belong to this administration.

Minister Muizzu, in clarifying this via twitter on Thursday, refuted allegations that the fire was a deliberate attempt by the government to destroy evidence of misconduct.

Photographs of the incident show burnt applications for a state shelter program.

Muizzu said in a post on his Twitter account that the documents are dated to 2005.

The storage unit fire occurred in Villimalé last week.
