American restaurant franchise Pizza Hut has opened an outlet in capital city Malé.

The outlet was inaugurated by Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed at an event held there on Wednesday night.

The brand was franchised by a joint venture between Island Foods Maldives and Gamma Pizzakraft, which runs Pizza Hut’s outlets in Sri Lanka.

While it was officially opened on Tuesday night, it is open to the public from 11:00 AM on Thursday onwards.

Pizza Hut has over 16,000 locations worldwide.
