Despite this being his 50th consecutive day in jail, he remains resolute in the face of manifest injustice & oppression.
His message remains, "Ehen ekaku nethas, islaahee masakkathuga alhugandu dhemihunnaanan!"
Gayoom was arrested on February 5, the night President Abdulla Yameen declared the State of Emergency, and has been remanded for the remainder of his trial.
He has since been charged with terrorism for allegedly attempting to overthrow the government by bribing the Supreme Court justices to issue the February 1 order to release nine political prisoners and reinstate 12 opposition MPs.
Others terror suspects include Supreme Court Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed, Justice Ali Hameed, the former president's son MP Faris Maumoon and son-in-law Mohmaed Nadheem.
