The vessel, a bulk carrier named YASA EAGLE, was then about 12 nautical miles north of Addu City

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has assisted in bringing a sickly crew member aboard a Marshallese vessel to southernmost Addu City for treatment.

MNDF’s Coast Guard unit received reports of the matter at about 19:30 on Monday, and its rescue coordination center had deployed officers to the vessel.

The vessel, a bulk carrier named YASA EAGLE, was then about 12 nautical miles north of Addu City.

The individual was brought to Addu City at about 23:30 and is being treated at the Hithadhoo Regional Hospital.
