Former Assistant Commissioner of Police Abdullah Fairoosh has said intelligence reports should not be used in any stage of the investigation, "as evidence".
In a tweet on Saturday, Fairoosh said the text below the intel reports states that it is not evidence and therefore cannot be used in the investigation.
The judges should start reading the text in a red box in the Intel reports. It states that the Intel reports must not be used in any stage of the trial. It’s not a piece of evidence.

RaajjeTV journalist Mohamed Wisam and programme head Amir Saleem has recently been arrested for allegedly making a video showing masked men in police uniforms expressing their opposition to the government. According to their lawyer Mohamed Nishan, the only evidence police presented in court was the intel report.
RaajjeTV has denied the allegations and accused authorities of arresting its employees in order to defame the TV station.
Some politicians have accused the government of using intel reports to prosecute journalists and opposition members. Some politicians have previously been imprisoned over intel reports.
