Chief Justice Saeed is being investigated over allegations of obstruction of official duties, accepting bribes, influencing court rulings, and attempting to overthrow the government.
The Chief Justice and Justice Ali Hameed were arrested at the Supreme Court after the government declared a state of emergency, following the Supreme Court ruling to release nine political prisoners and reinstate 12 opposition MPs.
President Abdulla Yamen has claimed that the ruling was an attempt to overthrow the government.
