Once again shuffled to Dhoonidhoo jail

Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom at the time of arrest
Lawyer Maumoon Hameed says that Maldives Police Service (MPS) was not able to confirm the location of his client, former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.
In a tweet posted, Maumoon Hameed said that he was not able to gain a clear answer on the location of his client. He also added that he had been barred from meeting President Maumoon, noting that there was no contact between the former President and his family.
Hameed had questioned on the reason for restriction, asking whether if it was ‘orders’. He had also asked if the former President was being punished.
President Maumoon was arrested hours after the Government declared State of Emergency. He was transferred to Maafushi jail from Dhoonidhoo jail on the 8th and back again on Thursday.
