Superintendent of Police Ahmed Shifan has been appointed as head of Police Commissioner’s Bureau.

He is still serving as Spokesperson for Police.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Abdul Mannaan Yoosuf was previously the head of the Bureau. However, following his dismissal from the position back in October 2017, the position remained vacant.

Following the declaration of State of Emergency, the Government had dismissed several senior figures at the Police Service, including the dismissal of Commissioner of Police Ahmed Areef and Deputy Commissioner of Police Ahmed Saudhee.

Currently, Deputy Commissioner of Police Abdullah Nawaz is serving as Acting Commissioner.
