Fresh summons were issued on Thimarafushi Constituency MP Mohamed Musthafa of having made statements that allegedly encouraged to overthrow the Government.
He was issued a summon for 2pm on Tuesday.
MP Musthafa was summoned to Maldives Police Service (MPS) on the same matter on the 31st of last month. He was given a three-day period to respond to the charges.
The allegations say that he had made the said inflammatory statements in a program on RaajjeTV on July 28, 2017. Police say that MP Musthafa had on the program called to remove President Abdullah Yameen from power.
The outspoken Parliamentarian say these are intimidation tactics, adding that this will not impact his drive.
RaajjeTV was penalized by Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC) for MP Musthafa’s statements.
