Ruling Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM) Parliamentary Group Leader Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik says there is no room for former President Mohamed Nasheed in the Maldives.

Speaking at Friday night’s rally held by PPM in carnival area, Nihan, who is also the Parliament representative for Vilimale’ constituency, said that the bigger picture of the coup was clear after Nasheed had tweeted.

‘The hidden, bigger picture of this dangerous coup, this ultimate betrayal led by Mohamed Nasheed with two senior most Justices of Supreme Court, was revealed when Nasheed tweeted at 11.14 on February 6,2018,’ he said.

Stating that President Nasheed had called for Indian soldiers to come to the Maldives, Nihan said this was not a debateable fact. He said Nasheed had no space in the Maldives now, in any way.

Additionally, Nihan said that those who are allied with Nasheed against the Govenrment, had previously on public podiums had revealed who Nasheed really was. He had urged public to reflect on the sentiments of one-time enemies, adding that under a Nasheed administration the nation would become a secular nation.
