Targeted intimidation of journalists need to cease: Transparency Maldives
TM said this in a series of posts on Twitter
The posts also called on the state to ensure accountability in law enforcement
RaajjeTV said in a statement that the station and its staff have been receiving death threats since they began covering the results of last Thursday's controversial Supreme Court ruling

Transparency Maldives (TM) has expressed concern over the 'targeted intimidation' of journalists, and 'disregard' of their rights.

TM said this in a series of posts on Twitter, where the non-profit had also highlighted the threats posed against Raajje Television (RaajjeTV).

The posts also called on the state to ensure accountability in law enforcement, over the continued threats that the station and other media outlets receive.

RaajjeTV said in a statement that the station and its staff have been receiving death threats since they began covering the results of last Thursday's controversial Supreme Court ruling.

The station made the decision on Friday night, following the military decision to have media outlets penalized and the police's negligence to continue providing security.
