Justice Ali Hameed’s is now recovering, his family has said.

A source close to the Supreme Court judge’s family said that the family has been barred from meeting him.

Justice Ali Hameed has a history of cardiovascular ailment, and has the high-profile judge has been known to have sought treatment extensively at local hospitals.

State officials took Justice Ali Hameed to hospital for treatment after his health significantly declined on Tuesday. 

Justice Ali Hameed was arrested alongside Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed after the President’s Office announced a state of emergency earlier this week.
