Roads closed off to public have been opened.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) closed off President’s Office area, Supreme Court area, parts of Chaandhanee magu and other areas in capital on Thursday evening following the Supreme Court ruling.

While the roads were opened up, most of opposition figures spent Thursday evening and early hours of Friday on the road, shuffling between campaign houses of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and Jumhooree Party.

Special Operations (SO) Officers had forcibly entered MDP campaign house of haruge, used tear gas to control the crowd and removed several peaceful protesters.
