The Elections Commission has opened opportunity for interested individuals to apply for a seat.
The vacancy was announced on the President’s Office’s website on Wednesday. The deadline is set at 10:00 AM on February 8th.
This follows the resignation of the commission’s president Ahmed Sulaiman, and the announcement comes less than 24 hours since.
RaajjeMV understands that Sulaiman had resigned at the ‘order’ of President Abdulla Yameen.
No details of the resignation has been released, although it is clear Sulaiman did so on Wednesday afternoon.
