Police have begun searching three houses related to opposition leader and former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.
RaajjeMV understands that the police are searching Entherigas, Penzee House, and the residence of Najma Ibrahim, a close associate of Gayoom.
Najma has been reportedly arrested.
Police have been patrolling the area around Gayoom’s house, Endherimaage, after searching the house in relation to allegations against his son MP Faris Maumoon, who has since been jailed.
At the time, Gayoom accused the police of acting against the search warrant, by saying that Faris has no room or office at his house.
