Police service has filed the art studio rape case for prosecution.
The case was filed at the Prosecutor General 23 days after the arrest of suspect Hassan Faiz.
He was arrested on January 6 for the alleged sexual assault of a young woman at an art studio in Male’. The victim filed the assault at the police service, which has received her medical report from IGM Hospital.
Faiz is the younger brother of Nihan Hussain Manik, a senior lawmaker of the ruling party.
He has denied the allegations in an interview with RaajjeTV, and claimed that no DNA evidence would be found on her body.
The victim told RaajjeTV that Faiz had offered her hush money after the assault.
