Police officers are still patrolling the area around opposition leader and former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s home.
This was confirmed by Gayoom’s daughter, Yumna Maumoon, on Twitter.
Posting pictures of two Special Operations (SO) officers outside the house, Yumna expressed concern that officers have yet to leave even after the police service gave their written statement after concluding Saturday’s search at the residence.

Gayoom’s home was searched in relation to the investigation of his son MP Faris Maumoon, who is alleged to have been planning an overthrow of the government.
Gayoom has accused the police service of searching the house illegally, since Faris lives in another house with his wife.
Faris was arrested on Saturday, less than 48 hours after his release last Thursday.
