A police operation has led to the arrest an individual from a fishing vessel in Lhaviyani Atoll.

A local man was reportedly apprehended in possession of 10 film cannisters filled with what officers believe to be a variant of cannabis.

The operation was carried on January 24th, and was fueled by intelligence information that the police received.

He has been remanded for 15 days by the magistrate court in Naifaru island.
