PPM in crisis
Ex-Deputy Leader blames First Lady for PPM's current status
Pres. Yameen incapable on running Party

Former Deputy Leader of the break away faction of Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM) Aminath Nadhira has leveled some serious accusations against First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim, stating that the First Lady was the reason why PPM was in the current crisis.

Speaking in RaajjeTV's Fala Surukhee program, Nadhira said that First Lady had used her influence to halt the campaign office opened up on Janavaree magu, adding that she had used the Party's Assistant Registrar Mohamed 'Hiyalee' Rasheed for this purpose.

'We insisted even then, that it cannot be done that way. But [she] persisted. Anyone who speaks against is branded as opposition. That person becomes an individual who encourages dissent. We're talking about what Fathimath Ibrahim did; turned branches of Party upside down, broke those down. She did all that, ruined the Party from inside,' Nadhira said.

Nadhira further noted that President Abdullah Yameen and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim were incapable of running PPM. She added that the Party was in its current state due to the First Lady's actions and President Yameen's greed.
