Fresh summons were issued on Deputy Leader of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Mohamed Shifaz, after having answered Tuesday's summons.
The new summons had ordered him to present himself at Maldives Police Service (MPS) headquarters on Wednesday at 5pm, with an attorney.
He had answered his summons for Tuesday, at 5pm.
Summary of the summons stated that he was being summoned for having staged a protest in an area where protesting was banned. The said protest was held on the 19th of this month.
Shifaz, along with other opposition members, had staged a protest on Republic Square grounds that day.
MPS had issued summons on senior figures of opposition MDP, in addition to Shifaz.
