The Board of Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) is deliberating on disbanding the agency.

RaajjeMV understands that discussions to that nature began on Sunday. MRDC is yet to make an official statement on the matter.

RaajjeMV also understands that responsibilities of MRDC will be split among other Ministries, with most going to Housing Ministry.

The rumors of disbanding MRDC surfaced at a time when corruption allegations have been regularly raised against the agency.
