A resident from Eydhafushi island has been apprehended in a drug operation.
The police had received intelligence reports that traffickers are attempting to smuggle ‘narcotic substances’ on to the island.
In an operation conducted on January 15th, officers had apprehended a man carrying a film cannister containing what they believe to be a type of cannabis.
The apprehended man has been remanded for a total of 10 days and the police are investigating the matter.
Eydhafushi island is the capital of Baa Atoll.
