Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) has lifted the suspension placed on former Deputy Prosecutor General Hussain Shameem, after over two years.
Shameem was suspended on November 4,2015, shortly after he was appointed as legal representation for former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Ghafoor.
DJA on Tuesday had issued a notice, stating that Shameem’s suspension was lifted.
He was initially suspended as Supreme Court was reviewing alleged violations of clauses 3.2 (a), (c), (d), (e) and (j) of the regulations on lawyers. He was under review for having allegedly having criticized or defamed Judges and Court.
During this lengthy suspension, Shameem had dished out legal advice to his clients including Jumhooree Party Leader Qasim Ibrahim.
