The visiting delegation from European Union had met the ruling faction of the Progressive Party of the Maldives.

A tweet by EU on Monday said the two groups had engaged in discussions over the current political landscape in the Maldives. No official statement was released by PPM regarding the meeting.

PPM Parliamentary Group Leader and Vilimale’ Constituency MP Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik, Secretary General and Nilandhoo Constituency MP Dr. Abdullah Khaleel and Party’s Deputy Leader and Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer and Naifaru Constituency MP Ahmed Shiyam attended the meeting.

The high-level delegation- consisting of Pampaloni, Head of the EU Delegation to the Maldives Tung-Lai Margue, and the EEAS Head of Division for South Asia Caroline Vinot- arrived in the Maldives on Saturday and concluded their visit on Monday
