Dhihdhoo Constituency MP Abdul Latheef Mohamed has stated that the joint opposition were prepared to do 'anything' to bring about a regime change, adding that President Abdullah Yameen will experience the 'bitterness' of this.
He made the statement in the joint opposition rally held on Thursday night in Maamigili island in Alif Dhaal Atoll.
Strongly criticizing President Yameen, MP Abdul Latheef had condemned the Government's abuse of religion for their own means.
'The President is a deceitful, cruel President. I pledge that we will do all possible to bring an end to this regime. We will do this and show the results,' he said
MP Latheef further said that President Yameen neither commanded the respect nor admiration of the public. Stressing that President Yameen cannot hope to continue his heavy handed methods, the Parliamentarian added that President will not be able to win his re-election bid. The joint opposition, he said, will show the President the bitter result of his actions.
Like the other speakers, MP Latheef also stressed the opposition was very much united and committed to their cause.
The Parliamentarian also touched on the pressures leaders of the opposition faced, but urged the public not to lose hope.
