Thimarafushi Constituency MP Mohamed Musthafa alleges that incumbent President Abdullah Yameen is terrified of his one-time deputy, former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Ghafoor.
In a tweet penned in Dhivehi, MP Musthafa said that President Yameen was terrified of former Vice President, adding that there were some reasons behind this.
He added that if Adeeb is freed from jail, President Yameen stood to lose his power base, adding that he, and other like him, will be cheering on the day that happens.
MP Musthafa is among the growing number who believe that Adeeb’s is being denied release for medical treatment as he was in the know of many state secrets.
