Team Mooshan and Team Chaps have become the male and female teams to win this year’s Twitsal tournament, respectively, with the former having won three years in a row.

Team Mooshan emerged victorious again with a score of 3-2 against Team Baa. The match ended with a tie of no goals for either team, and said difference was acquired in the penalty rounds that followed.

Team Chaps, the female victors, had also won through penalties. Their match against Team Leay ended with a tie of 1-1. Team Chaps managed to score one goal in the penalty rounds.

The victors were sponsored by singer Mooshan Mubarak and clothing retailer Chaps Reserved.

Twitsal is an annual one-day futsal tournament, and FIFA’s rules for the sport apply, held among prominent users of social media Twitter in the Maldives.

A total of 12 teams had competed this year, four female teams and eight male teams. All the teams make up a total of 120 players.
