Retired Colonel Shaukath Ibrahim, revered for his illustrious military career, has passed away at the age of 71.

Shaukath had served a number of ranks during his career, and became known as ‘Habar Shaukath’, after the name of his home in capital city Malé.

After retiring, he spent time in several government positions.
