A blooper was found in this year’s budget, which stated that the state would generate 3.14 trillion.
For next year, the total budget was set at MVR 27.9 billion.
The 21st page of the budget shows that MVR 3.14 trillion is expected as General Goods and Services Tax (G-GST).
This is a record amount in the nation’s history. Based on an estimate of MVR 25 billion per annum budget, this figure is equivalent to a budget for 126 years.
In comparison, India passed a budget of MVR 5.1 trillion for 2017 – 2018.
