Police still silent over assault claims on an officer by Shaheeb
Police had confirmed a case was under review
Officer ran after Shaheeb with a scissor

Maldives Police Service (MPS) once again has refused to make statement on an assault case concerning President of Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC) Mohamed Shaheeb and an officer of Maldives Police Service (MPS).

RaajjeMV had attempted to glean a comment from MPS over the case unsuccessfully.

The case was filed in MPS by the officer.

The case had also been filed by Shaheeb. RaajjeMV understands that Shaheeb had filed the case as an assault one.

Police media official previously reported the case was under investigation and therefore no statement can be made.

Eyewitnesses report that Shaheeb had visited a residence near MDP offices on Sosun magu and was seen exiting the premises in a sprint, a few minutes later. Another individual had chased Shaheeb, with eyewitnesses reporting that the two had argued.

RaajjeMV understands that the other person involved in the case is an officer of the Special Operations (SO) Police officers.

RaajjeMV had made multiple attempts to contact Shaheeb. All calls and messages to him remained unanswered.
