New Radiant Sports Club has signed Mariyam ‘Mayan’ Mohamed and Areesha Riza to their women’s team.

This is part of New Radiant’s ongoing efforts to build their team for the Football Association of Maldives’ upcoming women’s league.

Mayan is a prominent figure in local women’s football, having served as the association’s head of Women’s Football and on the Asian Football Federation’s Women’s Football Committee.

Areesha is a skilled defender who currently players for the national women’s team. New Radiant last week signed two other players from the national team; Fathimath Shaalia and forward Aishath Samaa.

Clubs competing in the upcoming league must submit squad lists and other documents to the association by 23rd November. The first match for the women’s league will be played on 1st December.
