The national budget for 2018 is on agenda for Thursday’s Parliament sitting.

Speaking in a press conference held in Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM) offices on Tuesday, PG Leader Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik said the budget will be sent in on Thursday.

Normally Parliament sittings are on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. However, Parliament Secretariat had confirmed a session will be held on Thursday.

Finance Minister Ahmed Munawwar is to present the budget on the Parliament floor, with the budget already sent to the Secretariat.

October 31st is the deadline for proposing the state budget for the coming year, as mandated by law.
