The Bank of Maldives (BML) has given out long-service awards in recognition of staff who have been with the bank for over 15 years.
The bank held an event at the Champa Hotel in Malé City on Monday night, where it gave away said awards to a total of 24 staff, who served for over 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 years.
BML has three employees that have been with them for over 35 years: Deputy CEO Aishath Noordeen, Director of Islamic Banking Fathimath Manik, and senior facilities officer Moosa Mohamed.
Andrew Healy, BML’s CEO who used to run the Irish National Bank in his native country, thanked those who received awards at the event for their ‘immense contribution and commitment’.
BML, which received the reputable ‘Asia’s Best Employer Brand Award’ this year, has been giving long-service awards to its staff for two years.
The first such event was held in 2015 and is now held annually. In May, the bank also held its ‘Staff Awards’ to recognize its top performing employees.
At the end of October, BML announced that it had garnered a profit of 247 million in the third quarter of 2017.
