You coached for the opposing team, says Nihan to Maumoon

Vilimale’ Constituency MP Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik has mocked former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, stating the former President had coached for the opposing team, when tasked with leading the Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM).
MP Nihan made statement speaking in the campaign rally held in the Party’s Rumaalu-2 campaign post.
Describing PPM as the pink team, he defined the opposition as a rag tag team, with the former President coaching for the opposition, abandoning his coaching role for his original team.
‘Any sane person would know if you’re given a coaching role, you’re supposed to coach for that team. If you coach for the other team, you’ll be dismissed. The next day he goes on an interview saying he’s still the coach. Khaleel who’s placed as first aid is not someone I put there. When things reach this level, we have to question that person’s sanity,’ Nihan said.
Referring to the actions the former President instated against the pink team, Nihan said that PPM’s Deputy Leader Abdul Raheem and Secretary General Abdullah Khaleel were extremely patient. He also said that Khaleel was appointed to his position justly.
MP Nihan also said President Yameen will win next year’s elections in one go.
