Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has posted over MVR 2 billion in earnings for the month of July.
A statement released by the Authority stated that in July earnings were at MVR 2.1 billion.
Compared to the same period the previous year, this is an increase of 54.8 percent. This is the second time this year that earnings had topped the MVR 2 billion mark.
BPT had claimed the lion’s share of the earnings, with 42.9 percent of the total earnings. This is around MVR 892.8 million. GST accounted for 30.9 percent, with MVR 642.4 million, while tourism land rent accounted for 6.7 percent with MVR 158.2 million. Green taxes accounted for 2.5 percent, which is around MVR 51.1 million.
MIRA also reported that US$ 53.4 million were recorded as earnings as well.
