Ambassador of the Maldives to Sri Lanka, Zahiya Zareer
Political Director at Foreign Ministry Heena Waleed has dismissed rumors that Ambassador of the Maldives to Sri Lanka, Zahiya Zareer, is to be dismissed.
Heena said any decision regarding the position will be made by President’s Office.
Spokesperson at the President’s Office was unreachable for comment.
Rumors over the past few days had surfaced that Zahiya is to be dismissed from her position. RaajjeMV understands that Zahiya has returned back to the Maldives.
Zahiya was first appointed to her role on May 2014. She had previously served as a Cabinet Minister from 2005 to 2008.
