“Run in Addu” slated for September
Applications open on August 1st
Marathon category will be held first
Total four categories in the run

“Run in Addu” is to be held in September.

The run will feature four categories, out of which the marathon segment will be carried out first. The marathon will begin at 4.45am on the 15th. The marathon will begin from Kam’bihaa road. The marathon will finish in around five hours and 20 minutes. Runners will have to run 42.2 kilometers.

The half marathon will be held next, where runners will have to run 21.2 kilometers. The half marathon will begin from Gan International Airport at 6.45 am.

The 10-kilometer run will begin from Hithadhoo link road at 7.45 am. The five-kilometer run will begin from the Hithadhoo Elhe Didi road at 8.45 am.

All runs will end at the Convention Center.

First aid stations will be placed every two kilometers, supported by Maldives Red Crescent. Additionally, Police will be maintaining security in the area.

Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) Secretary General Ahmed Marzooq stated that the run was on Addu link road and roads that shows the beauty of the City.

Addu City Mayor Abdullah Sodiq said that event tourism is starkly different from traditional types of tourism and that this can be shown in the City. He added that the TfG event will be a key part of development for the city.

Addu City Council will also carry out tours of the City as part of the run.

Applications for the run will be opened from August 1st. Interested parties can apply from gotorace. Go to Race is the timing partner for the run.
