Opposition supporters in Thinadhoo island of Gaafu Dhaalu atoll have held a demonstration calling for government reform.
The demonstration, where supporters had ridden around Thinadhoo on motorcycles, called for freedom.
Mohamed Nazim, who was previously the parliamentary representative for the Madaveli constituency, said that those gathered at the demonstration had expressed concern over police brutality against journalists.
He further said that those in Thinadhoo will hold similar demonstrations frequently in the future.
