President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has officially inaugurated the new extension building of the healthcare center in Feridhoo Island in Alifu Alifu Atoll.
The new extension building of Feridhoo Health Center was inaugurated on Wednesday.
The inauguration ceremony was held in Feridhoo as part of the President's visit to several islands of the atoll.
After the opening ceremony, President Solih toured the new building and inquired about the services available at the facility.
The new wing resolves the shortage of space at the Health Centre and includes several new facilities that would benefit patients and staff.
The administrative office provides a dedicated space for staff to manage patient records and coordinate care, while the public health unit offers various preventive health services.
The facility also includes a meeting room and general and medical stores to ensure that essential supplies and medications are readily available.
President Solih's administration has undertaken numerous development projects to improve health services in the atolls. These projects have included infrastructure development, human resource development, and the introduction of new services at health centers, atoll hospitals, and regional hospitals.
