The Chief Justice of the Republic of the Maldives, Ahmed Muthasim Adnan, has concluded his official visit to the United States of America (USA).
The Chief Justice departed to the USA on 10 June. He concluded his trip and returned to the Maldives on 19 June.
Justice of the Supreme Court, Husnu Al Suood accompanied Chief Justice Muthasim Adnan on the trip.
Some Judges of the High Court, Superior Court and Magistrate Courts of Maldives also accompanied the Chief Justice on the visit.
During the visit, the Chief Justice visited the US Supreme Court, the Utah State Court and the US District Courts and met with the judges of these courts.
He also visited the U.S. State Attorneys Office and met with its leaders to discuss plea bargaining, victim-centered approaches, advocacy and purse conviction.
In addition, he met with senior officials from the Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) and the US Department of State.
The Chief Justice also visited the Administrative Office of US Courts and the Federal Judicial Center International Office.
The meetings discussed case management system, judicial security and judicial exchange opportunities.
The Chief Justice's visit was organized by the US Department of Justice.
