Scholarships offered to Maldivian students from the Government of Japan are now accepting applications

Scholarships offered to Maldivian students from the Government of Japan are now accepting applications.

The Ministry of Higher Education in an announcement, disclosed that the Government of Japan is offering "Japanese Government Scholarship for 2024" to Maldivian students to study at Japanese universities.

The Higher Education Ministry stated that the Embassy of Japan in Maldives will review the applications and shortlist the candidates for the test and interview stage.

The test and interview will be held at the Embassy of Japan in Male'.

The Japanese government will cover all costs associated with these scholarships in full.

The application deadline for these scholarships is 28 May, 2023.

The Ministry of Higher Education advices candidates that get selected, to ensure that the chosen institute is recognized by the Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA) before leaving for the course.

The Ministry also advices those that get selected for professional or licensing courses to ensure that the course is recognized by the relevant authorities such as Maldives Allied Health Council, Maldives Nursing and Midwifery Council, Maldives Medical and Dental Council and Civil Aviation Authority.
