Isdhoo Constituency MP Ahmed Rasheed in Parliament session: denies having signed the no confidence motion
Isdhoo Constituency MP Ahmed Rasheed has filed case with Parliament Speaker Abdullah Maseeh to investigate opposition MPs forging his signature on the no confidence motion on the Speaker.
The motion asked the Speaker to enact the legal measures against the said Parliamentarians. Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Parliamentary Group Leader and Parliament Majority Leader Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik had tweeted the letter as well.
A subsequent tweet by Nihan showed a video of MP Rasheed denying that he had signed the motion.
While PPM's leadership is accusing the opposition of forging signatures, a photo of MP Rasheed signing the said motion has been circulating on social media. MP for Dhiggaru constituency Ahmed Faris Maumoon, who has been spearheading the no-confidence motion against the speaker since March, is seen in the picture as well.
