Criminal Court has extended the remand of two suspects arrested in connection to the murder of social media activist and blogger Yameen Rasheed.

Raajje.mv understands their remands were extended on Friday. Raajje.mv also understands that one of the suspects hails from Thinadhoo island in Gaaf Dhaal Atoll and the other hails from Male’ City. The former’s remand was extended by 10 days, while the latter’s remand was extended by 15 days.

Remands of three additional suspects were increased on Thursday. Criminal Court set 15 days for Ismail Rasheed, Ismail Haisham Rasheed and Ahmed Zihan Ismail. The photos of these three were released by Police earlier this month, with Police claiming that there was enough evidence for prosecution.

A total of seven had been arrested for murder.
